Frequently Asked Questions
Q.:  IF MORE THAN ONE MEMBER IS AVAILABLE FOR ANY SEAT, WHICH ONE GOES FLYING?
A.: ALL OTHER THINGS BEING EQUAL, THE MEMBER WITH THE LOWEST CLUB MEMBERSHIP NUMBER WILL FLY FIRST.
Q.:  HOW LONG BEFORE THE DEPARTURE TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE AT THE AIRPORT?
Q.:  I AM DISABLED, CAN I FLY IN THE AMPHIBIAN?
A.: YOU SHOULD PLAN TO BE AT THE AIRPORT 45 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR ALLOCATED TIME. SOMETIMES A FLIGHT WILL ARRIVE BACK EARLY, WHICH MIGHT RESULT IN THE NEXT FLIGHT DEPARTING EARLY AS WELL. BEING LEFT BEHIND WILL COUNT AS A FLIGHT FROM THE ALLOCATION PROCESS POINT OF VIEW.
Q.:  WHAT FACILITIES ARE THERE FOR MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WHO WILL BE WAITING AT BLACKBUSHE WHILST I GO FLYING?
Q.:  HOW MANY SEATS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON EACH FLIGHT?
Q.:  WHAT CAN I TAKE ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT?
A.: SPACE IS LIMITED ON BOARD. LADIES MAY BRING A SMALL HANDBAG. YOU MAY ALSO BRING SMALL CAMERAS.
A.: WHILE WE TRY TO ENSURE THAT ALL MEMBERS CAN ENJOY THE SAME BENEFITS, IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO BE ABLE TO CLIMB UP TO THE AIRCRAFT CABIN. PLEASE INFORM THE CLUB SECRETARY OF YOUR MOBILITY AND WE WILL TRY TO ARRANGE SUITABLE FACILITIES.
A.: THE AIRPORT CAFE IS OPEN FROM 0900 TO 1700 HOURS. A SELECTION OF HOT MEALS AND DRINKS ARE AVAILABLE. ONE MILE TO THE EAST, ON THE A30, THE ELY HOTEL HAS A LARGER MENU SELECTION AND IS OPEN ALL DAY.
A.: THE NUMBER OF SEATS WILL NOT EXCEED TWO. FOR PERFORMANCE REASONS, THESE FLIGHTS ARE MORE LIKELY TO HAVE TO VISIT ANOTHER AIRFIELD FOR REFUELLING. THIS COULD DELAY YOUR RETURN BY UP TO ONE HOUR. YOU SHOULD BRIEF YOUR FRIENDS & FAMILY OF THIS POSSIBILITY.
Q.:  WILL I GET A SAFETY BRIEFING BEFORE GOING FLYING?
A.: BEFORE DEPARTING YOU WILL RECEIVE A COMPREHENSIVE SAFETY BRIEFING AND BE FITTED WITH A LIFE-JACKET. WHEN ON-BOARD, YOUR PILOT WILL DEMONSTRATE HOW TO OPEN THE DOORS, THE USE OF THE INTERCOM HEADSET AND OTHER IMPORTANT ACTIONS.
Q.:  WHEN IN FLIGHT, HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE WE ARE?
A.: DURING FLIGHT YOUR PILOT WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF THE FLIGHT’S PROGRESS. WHEN WORKLOAD PERMITS, HE WILL POINT OUT VARIOUS LANDMARKS AND POINTS OF INTEREST.
